The field of financial and actuarial mathematics is considered as one of the strategic areas in many developed countries, it plays an important role in finding new methods to develop the activities of financial and insurance institutions and hence to ensure that the necessary precautions are taken to face future related risks that may affect the instability of local labor markets.

      The importance of this field also lies in the increasing needs of the labor markets for specialists and experts, in financial and actuarial analysis, who are highly qualified to keep pace with the development and activities of financial institutions and insurance companies in Saudi Arabia.

       From this point of view, the idea of establishing a research chair in financial and actuarial studies emerged in order to develop scientific research in these areas. The chair shall provide also qualitative analytical studies that contribute to the development of the insurance and financial sectors in the Kingdom. Hence, it serves the community in a vital and strategic field in line with the quality of life which is considered as a main focus in the Kingdom's vision 2030.
